ARTUZ Promises To Monitor Adherence To COVID-19 Regulations in Schools

Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) has promised to monitor schools to make that they are abiding with COVID-19 regulations to minimise the spread of COVID-19 through ensuring that schools provide safe environment, with availability of water and adequate wash facilities.
ARTUZ Deputy Secretary General Munyaradzi Masiyiwa told this publication that as ARTUZ they are going to monitor the observance COVID-19 regulations in schools mentioning that the ministry of education conducted a standard operation procedure which stipulates that every school must abide by COVID-19 regulations.
Furthermore ARTUZ has introduced the use of colour codes to determine the level of adherence to Ministry’s Standard Operating Procedures. Green will be for a safe school, Orange fairly safe, red hazardous and purple for extremely hazardous. These colours will be placed in monitored schools to advice students, parents, staff and others of the safely level at school.
ARTUZ mentioned that the government should also quickly solve the issue of teacher’s salaries to make sure they go back to classes as soon as possible.
