Harare- Residents from different communities in Harare have been living in fear of contracting the deadly pandemic disease after the President extended the lockdown with another 2 weeks.

During the introduction of the first phase communities have been receiving chemicals to use at water points such as sanitizers to help fight the spread of COVID19.

Speaking to this publication Community Water Alliance spokesperson Hardlife Mudzingwa, urged residents not to be in panic mode after the extension of the lockdown by the government saying that they will continue to distribute chemicals such as sanitizers at all water points in Harare.

He went on to urge communities who benefited, to use chemicals wisely and not abuse them. The organization will also introduce similar projects to other communities such as Mbare, Budiriro and Glenview.

“This project is going to help residents understand and be aware of the danger this pandemic poses and since water points are at high-risk areas”, said Mudzingwa.

Mrs Gwaze from Budiriro applauded the move by Community Water Alliance to continue giving them sanitizers to use at water points free of charge, and urged others to desist from abusing the donations but rather to use them wisely. She went on to urge residents to follow other precautions such as social distancing and washing of hands with running water.
